Uttarakhand / Almora : The bus fell into the ditch due to the sudden break of the bus strap, 18 lives were narrowly left

A bus going from Ramnagar to Saraikhet fell into a ditch at some distance from Dotiyal intersection on Monday due to breaking of the spring. There were 18 passengers on the bus. The bus came to a halt after colliding with a tree, causing minor injuries to the passengers but their lives were saved. The police, with the help of villagers, pulled out the passengers.

The bus going from Ramnagar to Saraikhet fell into the ditch ahead of Dotiyal intersection at around 2.30 pm. During this time there were 18 passengers in the bus. As the bus rolled into the ditch, there was a scream among the passengers. Nearby shopkeepers and other people ran towards the bus but then the bus got stuck on a tree at a distance. There was a gap of about 100 meters in front of it, till which the bus could not reach due to getting stuck in the tree. The local people themselves informed the police along with evacuating the trapped passengers in the bus. The police also pulled the passengers out of the ditch. Salt’s S, O Govind Singh Mehta said that the reason behind the accident was the sudden break of the strap of the bus full of passengers, the driver lost his balance. Passengers on the bus suffered minor injuries. There was no casualty in the accident. At present, all the passengers have left for their homes.
