Uttarakhand : Garhwal Commissioner’s instructions – complete the construction work before Chardham Yatra

Garhwal Commissioner Sushil Kumar held a meeting with the District Magistrates, Superintendents of Police and departmental officers in the Municipal Auditorium regarding the preparations for the Chardham and Hemkund Sahib visit. In this, he instructed all the departmental officers to make arrangements before the journey. The commissioner said that the construction work should be completed by March 31.

In the meeting, it was apprised by the officials of NH Srinagar Garhwal that in case of closure of the highway in the rainy season in Khankra (Rudraprayag), passenger vehicles would be sent via Dungripanth. TGMO President Jitendra Singh Negi said that the vehicles going from Gangotri to Kedarnath pass through Dobra Chanthi bridge to Lambgaon, Srinagar to Garhwal via Paukhal. This route is narrow in an area of ​​20 km, in which there is a possibility of accident all the time, hence widening of this route is necessary.

The Border Roads Organization official said that the DPR has been prepared for the widening of the highway from Uttarkashi to Gangotri. District Magistrate Chamoli Himanshu Khurana said that the highway in Lambagad should be transferred to the Border Roads Organization. The commissioner said that BRO bypass in Chamoli should be repaired on priority basis. He said the road is damaged in 200 meters area. Divisional Transport Officer Dinesh Chand Pathoi said that during the journey, rotation is made, in which the number of vehicles going on Chardham Yatra comes through lottery. In case of shortage of buses, roadways buses are taken for journey. If there is still a shortage of buses, then buses are called from Kumaon. DM Rudraprayag Manuj Goyal, SP Chamoli Shweta Choubey, DM Haridwar Vinay Shankar Pandey, SSP Haridwar Dr. Yogendra Singh Rawat, SDM Rishikesh Dr. Apoorva Pandey, ARTO Rishikesh Arvind Pandey, MNA GC Gunwant, Tehsildar Dr. Amrita Sharma, SDO Anil Negi and SDO Arvind Negi were present.

Passengers will not go to Hemkund Sahib by double decker car

Inspector General of Police Garhwal KS Naganyal said that passengers from outside states come in trucks on Hemkund Yatra. Passengers are accommodated in it like a double decker vehicle. Such trucks will be stopped in Rishikesh only. The Transport Department will examine the papers of these vehicles. Two wheelers going on Hemkund Sahib Yatra and Neelkanth Dham Yatra will also be stopped.

Chardham Yatra will be completed in fixed days

The Garhwal commissioner said that many drivers tend to speed up taxis in order to make a second turn, which sometimes leads to vehicle accidents. To prevent such an incident, the driver concerned will have to complete the journey within the stipulated days. RTO DC Pathoi said that for this the Transport Department has arranged for trip cards.
