Volkswagen Polo will no longer be available in India, this emotional letter of ‘farewell’ is going viral

Volkswagen Polo will no longer be available in India. The company has stopped its production. A major reason for this is Volkswagen launching new models in its portfolio and focusing on SUVs. The company has shared an emotional letter regarding Polo’s departure from the Indian market. Which is becoming quite viral on social media.

12 years long journey

Volkswagen has shared a Goodbye Letter from Polo on its social media. It is written in…

Roads are beautiful, but everyone has an end somewhere. Now after 12 years of continuous running, it’s time for me to apply the brakes.

I remember very well how in 2009 I blinked my headlamp for the first time at Chakan Plant in Pune. India saw me at the 2010 Auto Expo in the midst of applause.

During my never-to-be-forgettable journey, I went to many places, found love from people and got invitations to go on trips I hadn’t even dreamed of.

I had a big responsibility to give India the joy of German engineering and the experience of driving well, after all, I belong to the Volkswagen family.
If I didn’t have all this, I would never have been able to do this, like…

The engineers who tightened my nuts and bolts and joined me together.

The dealers who put me in the showroom to show the world.

The service team, who supported me even when I was in minor pain.

And all of you who are reading this letter now. My heartfelt thanks to all of you. After all a car is nothing without a driver, right?

You know, when I came to India there was only one hatchback car. But you all made me feel like being the most favorite hatchback ever.

I love writing this letter, and now I can’t wait to spend these last few days with you. I am going and handing over this legacy to my SUVW (Volkswagen’s new SUV range) and sedan siblings. I am sure they will take you forward.

Keep enjoying the fun driving and give me a place in your hearts. till then …

your most beloved,
Polo.
