Himachal Pradesh / Mandi : Pandoh bus accident happened due to ‘human error’, not brake failure
The investigation report of the bus accident at Pandoh in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh has been submitted to the government. This bus accident did not happen due to brake failure, but human error was the reason for the accident. This has been revealed in the report. However, the media has not been informed about how and how this mistake happened.
Himachal Transport Minister Bikram Singh said that the preliminary report of the Mandi bus accident on April 4, 2022 has been received. In the report, the cause of the accident has been told as human error, but instructions have been given to the District Magistrate, Mandi for a thorough investigation of this accident.
The minister said that the bus which had crashed in the accident had reached the workshop on April 2, 2022 for repair and it was completely repaired. On April 3, this bus was deployed on the Shimla-Manali route. All kinds of spare parts were present in the workshop for technical faults and repairs of the bus.
The Transport Minister said that the bus accident in Chamba was due to a short circuit in the battery wires near the fuel supply pipe. No one has been injured in this accident. He said that immediate interim relief was provided to the dead and injured in the Mandi bus accident. The Transport Corporation has given immediate relief of Rs.25-25 thousand to the family of the deceased driver and the family of the deceased person (passenger) and Rs.1.31 lakh to the other injured. Also, the full cost of the treatment of the injured passengers has been borne. The minister said that under the policy, a provision has been made to provide immediate job to the wife of the deceased driver.
Allegations of employees baseless
The Transport Minister said that the allegations leveled by the United Coordination Front on the Transport Corporation are not based on facts. At present, there is no shortage of mechanics with the Transport Corporation for the repair of parts and buses. Recently, the Peace Meal workers of the workshop have been brought on contract by the Corporation, due to which there has been an increase in the maintenance of the buses. He said that the parts are purchased by the corporation only from the vehicle manufacturing companies and not from the open market. He said that the irresponsible statement of the United Coordination Front has adversely affected the morale of the passengers and staff. He said that the Transport Corporation is committed to provide pleasant and quality transport services to the people of the state. Necessary steps are also being taken by the State Government in a time bound manner for the welfare of the employees of the Corporation.
