Rajasthan / Dausa: Against the doctor, the mob was instigated by the former BJP MLA, the doctor had committed suicide, now the former MLA arrested

The Rajasthan Police on Thursday arrested former BJP MLA Jitendra Gothwal in connection with the suicide of a doctor Archana in Dausa district. According to officials, Gothwal is accused of instigating the protesters against the doctor couple. He has also faced many serious allegations including blackmailing the hospital management. A pregnant woman died on Monday night at a private hospital run by Dr Archana Sharma and her husband in Dausa district of Rajasthan, following which a mob of protesters created a ruckus. According to the police, traumatized by this incident, Dr Archana was found dead in her house on Tuesday. His body was found hanging from the fan.

Meanwhile, the husband of the pregnant woman who died on Monday said that he has not filed any complaint against the hospital. “I don’t know who signed me on the plain paper,” he said. On the other hand, Dr Archana’s husband Sunit told the media that the matter was being politicised. Referring to a local leader named Shivshankar, he said that politicians give protection to such people. He said stop patronizing them. All doctors try to save their patients. My wife is gone from the world, but this should not be the case with other doctors.

It is alleged that Gothwal instigated the relatives of the deceased woman to agitate against Archana and the hospital. However, Gothwal said that he was being framed for sending a train ticket to Priyanka Gandhi. He said that a case under section 302 was registered even before my arrival. I sent a train ticket to Priyanka Gandhi and I have been punished for it. I will continue to fight for Dalits.”

Jitendra Gothwal is the state secretary of BJP. He was recently in the news for sending train tickets to Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi. He had sent tickets to Priyanka challenging her to visit Rajasthan at the earliest in the context of the alleged gang-rape of a minor, reminding her of the slogan ‘Ladki hoon lade sakte hoon’.

Meanwhile, BJP state spokesperson Ramlal Sharma issued a statement saying that Gothwal’s arrest in the case indicates that the Congress government in Rajasthan is working to hide its failures. “The police had registered an FIR under section 302 several hours before Gothwal reached the spot,” he said.
