Pantnagar. Agriculture Minister Ganesh Joshi, who reached GB Pant Agricultural and Technological University, took a review meeting with the Vice Chancellor and the Dean, Directors and other officials. He expressed dissatisfaction with the functioning of the university. Later, while talking to reporters, the Agriculture Minister talked about making Pantnagar University a central university soon.

Agriculture Minister Joshi, who arrived late by two hours in the review meeting held at Nahep Bhawan of the university campus on Monday, said that Pantnagar University which used to be one of the number one universities in Asia. Its reputation has been declining for some time now. For what were the reasons for this, he has told the officials that such programs, such plans should be made, so that we can take the university to the same place again. He has asked the vice-chancellor to solve the problems of the university within 15 days and he will see what will happen at the government level. Those problems which are at the central level, they will go to the central government and solve them. Soon after the Pant University becomes a central university, the problems here will be resolved and there will be a saving of Rs 200 crore from the state government to the university. During this, other administrative officers including former MLA Rajesh Shukla were present.
