Russian troops on their way to final victory over Mariupol, attack Ukraine’s stronghold

Russian troops attacked a steel plant in the Ukrainian port city of Mariupol on Saturday. Ukrainian officials gave this information. The attack by Russian troops is aimed at possibly destroying the last bastion of Ukrainian resistance in the strategically important city. Olekseev Erstovich, an adviser to the head of the presidential office in Ukraine, gave information about the attack. He estimated at least 1,000 civilians to be taking shelter at the Azovstal plant along with the remaining Ukrainian troops.
Meanwhile, Russian troops intensified their offensive in the eastern Donbass region amid a vigorous retaliatory strike by Ukraine. Erastovich told a press briefing that the Russian military had resumed air strikes on the huge plant on the beach. “The enemy is trying to completely suppress the resistance of the defenders of Mariupol in the Azhovtal area,” he said. ,
It is noteworthy that two days ago, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu told Russian President Vladimir Putin that the Russians had liberated all of Mariupol, except Azhovstal. However, Putin ordered the Russian military not to raid the plant and instead cut off external contact with it. Ukrainian officials estimate that about 2,000 of their soldiers are inside the plant.
