Jammu and Kasmhir: Blast in Jammu ahead of PM Modi’s visit, police denied terrorist angle

Blast news is coming before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Jammu. The blast took place in a field in Laliana village, 12 km from Modi’s venue. Police has reached the spot. PM Modi will participate in a program to be held on Samba Panchayati Raj Day in Jammu today. Tight security arrangements have been made in view of the tour.
On this matter, the Jammu and Kashmir Police said in its statement that the villagers informed about a suspicious explosion in open agricultural land in Lalian village of Bishnah, Jammu. Police suspect a lightning strike or a meteorite. Police later said in a statement that the blast had nothing to do with the terrorist attack.
Two Pakistani terrorists killed in encounter in South Kashmir
Ahead of PM Modi’s visit, two Pakistani Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district. police gave this information. According to a police spokesman, the security forces received information about the hiding of terrorists at Mirahama in Kulgam in South Kashmir, following which a cordon and search operation was launched in the area. During the search operation, the terrorists opened fire on the security forces, following which an encounter broke out, the spokesman said. He said two Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists were killed in the firing and their bodies have been recovered. According to the spokesperson, the encounter between the security forces and the terrorists is still going on.
Terrorist involved in killing of RPF personnel arrested
A local Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist involved in the killing of two Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel was arrested this week. The police gave this information on Saturday. Kashmir Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar said that two terrorists were involved in the attack on RPF personnel in Kakapora area of Pulwama district, out of which one has been arrested. According to Kumar, the arrested terrorist is linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba. The search for the second terrorist is on and he will be apprehended soon, he added.
