Uttarakhand / Rishikesh : Acid poured on the child playing outside the house, the accused absconded

Some unknown person poured acid on the child playing outside the house on Tilak Road in Kotwali area. Hearing the screams of the child, his mother reached but by then the accused fled from the spot. The relatives have filed a complaint against the unknown accused in the Kotwali. According to information received from Kotwali police, Rudra Kataria (2 years) son Mahesh Kataria resident of Bhajan Ashram 3, Tilak Road, District Dehradun was playing outside the house at around 8:30 pm. The child’s mother Himanshi Kataria was also with him. During this, suddenly some unknown person poured acid on the child’s neck. The child was seriously injured after pouring acid. When the child’s mother raised an alarm, the accused fled from the spot. The child’s father Mahesh Kataria had gone to Haridwar for some important work. On the information of the relatives, he immediately reached the spot. After getting the child medical at SPS Government Hospital, he lodged a complaint against the unknown accused in Kotwali.
