The Congress party has intensified preparations for the candidate selection for the Champawat assembly seat by-election. On Friday, the people of the organization held a meeting regarding this. In the meeting, five candidates made their claim in the presence of Deputy Leader of Opposition Bhuvan Kapri, Almora MLA Manoj Tiwari and Lohaghat MLA Khushal Singh Adhikari. All the names have been sent to the party high command. The strategy for the by-election was prepared in a meeting chaired by party district president Puran Singh Kathait. Khatima’s MLA and Deputy Leader of Opposition Bhuvan Kapri, who arrived as an observer, said that the Congress will fight the by-election with full enthusiasm. The workers will work unitedly for the victory of the party candidate. He told that five names have come up to contest the by-election from Champawat Legislative Assembly.

All the names have been sent to the party high command. The name of any one of them will be announced as party candidate soon. He said that as part of the strategy, the names of those who have expressed their willingness to contest elections are not being made public. Almora MLA Manoj Tiwari and Lohaghat MLA Khushal Singh Adhikari also addressed the workers in the meeting. In the meeting, Umesh Kharkwal, Bhagirath Bhatt, Vikas Sah, Harish Chaudhary, Nirmal Tadagi, Vimla Sajwan, Municipality President Vijay Verma, Bibi Chand, Asha Tamta, Mahesh Dhek, Lalit Dev, Vipin Joshi, Ashok Karki, Sarita Adhikari, Chirag Fatrial, All the workers including Shailendra Rai, Jagdish Adhikari, Prahlad Singh Adhikari, Shyam Karki, Kaviraj Mouni, Prakash Mahra, Bhuvan Choubey, Sanjay Joshi, were present. Former MLA Kharkwal will contest the by-election on conditions only

Among the five possible candidates whose names have been sent to the party high command, the first name is being told of former MLA Hemesh Kharkwal. According to sources, Hemesh Kharkwal has spoken of contesting the by-election on conditions. In their terms, Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya in Banbasa, State President Karan Mahra and Deputy Leader of Opposition in Tanakpur Bhuvan Kapri, MLA of Lohaghat in Talladesh Khushal Singh Adhikari and former Chief Minister Harish Rawat in Champawat conduct the election, then in the same situation they will contest the elections. .

However, the former MLA is calling these reports absurd. In the recently held assembly elections, Hemesh Kharkwal had to face defeat from Kailash Gahatodi. According to the information, the name of Vimala Sajwan is also included in the list of possible candidates.
