The government has advised pilgrims visiting the Chardham Yatra from across the country to compulsorily register before starting the Yatra. Devotees have been urged to start the journey only after checking the registration availability on the tourism department’s portal. Secretary Tourism Dilip Jawalkar said that in order to make the journey of the pilgrims visiting Chardham pleasant and safe, the limit of registration has been fixed according to the carrying capacity of various Dhams, pilgrims should travel only after checking the availability of registration. Along with this, all the passengers have been instructed to follow the health advisory during Chardham Yatra.
The tourism department has set a certain limit for the registration of pilgrims in the state. Pilgrims coming on Chardham Yatra without registration will not be allowed to go beyond Rishikesh. After registering the pilgrim, come to Uttarakhand to start the yatra on the due date itself. Make hotel bookings for accommodation only after registration. He said that travelers should register for Chardham Yatra at registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in.
