After the scorching heat in many cities of Uttarakhand, rain-storm disturbed the people. From felling of trees, water logging and power supply was disrupted, due to which people had to face a lot of trouble. People troubled by the scorching heat for several days got relief from the winds and light rain at some places on Monday.
However, due to strong winds and thunderstorms, people had to face trouble due to falling of trees at many places. The Energy Corporation had to cut power. Five people were injured when a tree fell on a moving tractor trolley. Three of them have been admitted to the hospital with serious injuries.
The weather turned pleasant in Mussoorie on Monday evening due to rain. The weather became pleasant due to the rain after three o’clock in the evening. In Dehradun too, there was light drizzle with strong winds at some places. During this, trees fell at many places due to the storm. Due to bad weather, there was power breakdown in many areas in Doon in the afternoon.
Power supply was disrupted due to falling of trees and twigs in power lines on Rajpur Road and Sahasradhara Road. After the bad weather in the afternoon, power supply was stopped from many power stations as a precaution. At many places the electricity remained shut for about half an hour. But the supply remained closed for several hours due to the falling of trees and twigs on the power line on Rajpur Road.
In the areas of Karanpur and Nathanpur, the shutdown from 10 am to 4.30 pm was predetermined. It affected partially in some areas and completely in some areas. In IT Park, Turner Road, Anarwala, Patelnagar, Ballupur, Chakrata Road, Niranjanpur, the electricity continued to run intermittently. Late night also it rained in many areas in Doon. During this the electricity also went out.
Tree fell on tractor-trolley on Old Mussoorie Road
Old Mussoorie Road A tree fell on a moving tractor. Five employees of the contractor of the Energy Corporation were going on this. He got injured in the accident. Three of them have suffered severe injuries. Rajpur SHO Mohan Singh said that the police reached the spot on the information of falling trees on Old Mussoorie and Mussoorie Road during the strong storm.
During this it was found that the people riding tractor-trolley were buried under the tree which had fallen on Old Mussoorie Road. Police called the fire department team on the spot, cut trees and sent the injured to Doon Hospital by ambulance. Among the injured, Ajay, Vinod, Rajneesh got more injuries. He told that it took about half an hour to remove the tree by cutting it on the spot. During this, traffic remained disrupted on Mussoorie Marg and Old Mussoorie Marg.
First the heat then the storm disturbed
On Monday in Doon, the first heat then in the evening troubled the people. The maximum temperature reached 38.5 degree Celsius in the afternoon. The maximum temperature was also four degrees above normal. The minimum temperature touched 25.8 degrees Celsius, five notches above normal. The Meteorological Department has predicted rain at isolated places in Doon on Tuesday.
Heavy rain in Chakrata, Rishikesh
On Monday late evening, the rain became a disaster for the Energy Corporation. The power supply was disrupted due to the breaking of branches of trees in the power lines from Rishikesh to Raiwala. The mood of the weather changed in Chakrata after noon. In the afternoon, there was heavy rain in Chakrata along with light hailstorm. This gave relief to the people from the heat.
Car collided on the divider due to heavy rain
A car coming towards Almora from Haldwani suddenly hit a roadside parafit due to heavy rain in Nainipul of Garampani-Bhowali Almora National Highway late at night. The collision was so strong that the car went over the parfait. At the same time, a vehicle narrowly avoided going to the Kosi river.
Two people in the vehicle were injured.
