Uttarakhand / Rishikesh: On the instructions of the SDM, the fast of the traders ended
On the instructions of the SDM, the Tehsildar and the SNA ended the fast unto death to the agitating small traders on AIIMS Road. The administration and the corporation told the small traders that after the demarcation on Wednesday, the registered traders would be allowed to set up temporary shops and rahedis.
On Monday, on the instructions of SDM Shailendra Singh Negi, Tehsildar Amrita Sharma and SNA Anand Mishra reached AIIMS Road for talks with small traders who were fasting to death. Small traders were removed during the removal of encroachment campaign before the Chardham Yatra. Small traders told the Tehsildar and SNA that they were issued a license from the Municipal Corporation. Despite this, their temporary shops and street vendors were removed. Tehsildar Amrita Sharma assured the small traders that the demarcation will be done on AIIMS Road on Wednesday. After which only registered small traders will be allowed to set up temporary shops and street vendors. He said that Shivaji Nagar intersection will be completely no parking and no wedding zone. Action will be taken on putting Rahedi and parking the vehicle here.
