Uttar Pradesh : Rumors about ration card surrender-recovery, Yogi government told these rules

The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has clarified that no new order has been issued in the state regarding surrender or cancellation of ration cards. Refuting the reports, the State Food Commissioner has initiated action in this regard.  The reports have been described as misleading and baseless.

Terming the news going on in the media in this regard as baseless and misleading, the Food Commissioner said that ration card verification is a normal process. Eight years old rules are applicable in this. At present, no changes have been made in those rules.  are also eligible for ration card, none of them will have to cancel the ration card nor will they have to surrender. All those characters will continue to get ration.

Let us tell you that there were reports that the pucca house, electricity connection, arms license holder, motor cycle owner, poultry, cow rearing person will not be eligible for ration card under the government scheme.  Apart from this, it was being said that only people with an annual income of less than two lakh rupees in rural areas and three lakh rupees in urban areas would be eligible for ration card.  It was also said that only people who come under the purview of these standards are eligible for the ration card.  Such people surrender their ration card, otherwise the ration card will be verified and if found ineligible, action will be taken against the person concerned and the given ration will be recovered.  The Food Commissioner has made it clear that these characters cannot be declared ineligible.  No guidelines have been issued in this regard.
