Uttarakhand / Kotdwar : Breaking the lock of the house blew away the jewelery worth lakhs

In Ratanpur Sukhro ward of Municipal Corporation area, a thief broke the lock of a locked house and stole jewelery worth lakhs of rupees. In the case, the victim gave a complaint with the CCTV footage of the thief in Kotwali. Police have started investigation by registering a case against unknown thief in the matter.

Victim Rashmi Rawat wife Anoop Rawat told that her husband is working in Delhi Police. She lives alone in a rented room in the house of Vijay Darshan Singh Rawat in Ratanpur Sukhro. On 22 May, she went to her maternal home nearby, due to the storm, she stayed there for the night. The landlord had also gone out for some work that night. When she returned home at 4 pm the next day, the lock of the room was found broken. When I went to the room, all the things were found scattered. The cupboard was opened with a key and two gold chains, five gold rings, a pair of silver anklets and a silver chain were found missing, which are worth about Rs 2.5 lakh. Apart from this, the thieves also took away three of his purses. Apart from five hundred rupees in the purse, her husband and his Aadhar card, PAN card etc. were documents.

The victim told that the thief who came to carry out the crime is imprisoned in the CCTV camera of the neighborhood. He has entered the house after crossing the boundary at 1:30 in the night. He demanded the police to catch the thief and get his jewellery. Kotwal Vijay Singh said that after receiving the complaint of theft in Ratanpur Sukhro, a case has been registered against the unknown thief and investigation has been started.
