Uttar Pradesh / Aligarh: The murder of the wife and eight-year-old son of a bullion dealer

The wife and eight-year-old son of bullion trader Lalit Verma were murdered by unknown people with a knife on Thursday evening in Surendra Nagar of Quarsi police station area in Aligarh district of Uttar Pradesh. He was also attacked on the head with a brick. The woman’s hands were tied with strings. Housewares got messy. There is talk of loot of lakhs. Police have recovered four knives and a piece of brick from the spot. Two people have been caught on CCTV. The double murder in a densely populated area has created panic. Lalit has filed a murder report against her sister-in-law Anjali and her future husband Somesh Chauhan. Controversy is being told in these for a few days.

According to the police, both their daughters Khushi and Radhika had gone to Agra’s aunt’s house. On Thursday, Lalit’s wife Shikha and son Gopal were at home. Around seven o’clock in the evening the children of the locality started cycling as usual. When Gopal entered the house when he did not come, the door was open. The woman’s body was lying at the door of the room. Hearing the screams of the children, the people around came. The room safe was open. Jewelery and other items are also missing.

The jewelers are furious due to the murder and robbery of the bullion businessman’s wife and son. The Aligarh Sarafa Committee has announced to keep the market closed till noon in mourning on Friday. Aligarh Sarafa Committee President Vijay Aggarwal said that on one hand the Yogi government is tightening the noose on the criminals, while on the other hand murders are taking place in the dense population. This incident has caused great anger among the traders. The security system has been exposed. Police pickets should be increased in the city. Amit Saraf, regional president of the Indian Bullion and Jewelery Association, has expressed anger over the incident. He said that the way the miscreants have brutally killed the mother and son, it seems that the miscreants want to create fear in the city, not just robbery. Security should be given to the victim’s family. National General Secretary of All India Mahor Swarnakar Mahasabha, Ravi Varma Swarnakar has demanded from the administration that the killers should be arrested soon and given the harshest punishment. The administration has been demanded to disclose the incident in 36 hours.
