Uttarakhand / Roorkee : Villagers created ruckus by calling consolidation wrong
Villagers created a ruckus by protesting against the team of Consolidation Department that reached Belda village to do the metering. The villagers lodged a protest calling the consolidation wrong. He alleged that two years ago, the Consolidation Department had collected the bags after metering. Now the investigation should be done again in the presence of the Tehsil team. It was alleged that some of the officers who have come to do the metering, have cases registered against them. However, the metering continued due to the police force gathered on the spot.
On Wednesday, the team of Consolidation Department reached Belda village of Roorkee tehsil to do the measurement. The officials started the metering in the presence of one of the parties. As soon as the information was received, the other side also reached the spot. There he started creating a ruckus, justifying the measurement as wrong. The villagers alleged that about two years ago in the village, the consolidation department had metered and deposited the bags in the tehsil. Therefore, there is no justification for re-measurement after two years.
He alleged that the officials of the Consolidation Department were doing the measurements wrongly under the pressure of some dabangs of the village. At the same time, some such officers are also present in the team against whom cases of land scam are registered. He raised the demand that if the measurement is to be done, it should be done in the presence of the administration team. At the same time, the second side came in front of the first side justifying the measurement. This started a fight between the two sides. Meanwhile, seeing the matter escalate, the police force had to come in the middle. The police pacified both the parties. In the matter, Kanungo Bengal Singh of Consolidation Department says that the measurement is being done by the joint team of Tehsil and Consolidation Department. The part which was missed in the measurement two years ago is now being measured again.
