CM Arvind Kejriwal sought time to meet Home Minister Amit Shah

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has sought time to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah to discuss the continuing target killings in Jammu and Kashmir. CM Kejriwal himself has given this information. Arvind Kejriwal said, “I have asked for an appointment, hope he (Amit Shah) will give time soon.”

Two days back, Kejriwal had criticized the BJP-led central government at the Delhi Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) “Jan Aakrosh Rally” and said he was in favor of the Centre’s plan to stop the “genocide of Kashmiri Pandits” in the Valley. Will meet Shah to know about it.

“I have sought an appointment with the Union Home Minister to discuss the continuing massacre of Kashmiri Pandits,” Kejriwal said in a tweet in Hindi.

AAP has been criticizing the killing of Kashmiri Pandits in the Valley and has blamed the Center for the situation. At the rally on Sunday, Kejriwal had claimed that Kashmiri Pandits were being forced to leave the Valley due to targeted killings of minorities and demanded that the Center prepare an action plan to prevent such incidents.

A string of targeted killings in Kashmir began in May, including that of a clerk, Rahul Bhatt, who was shot dead inside the Tehsildar’s office at Chadoora in Budgam district. Three policemen and five civilians are among those who have lost their lives in eight such incidents in Kashmir since May 1.
