‘Captaincy was not found in good conditions’, said Rishabh Pant after becoming the captain of Team India

Team India has to play 5 T20 series against South Africa in their own home. Its first match will be played on June 9 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Earlier, a bad news came for the Indian team and captain KL Rahul got injured and was ruled out of the series.

However, this news was good for wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant, as he was declared the captain of Team India in place of Rahul. While all-rounder Hardik Pandya was made the vice-captain. After this announcement of BCCI, Rishabh Pant looked very emotional. He said that he did not get the captaincy in good conditions.

I will try my best: Pant

Actually, BCCI shared a video of Rishabh Pant, in which Pant said these things. On being made the captain for the series against Africa, Rishabh Pant said in the video, ‘It is a very good feeling, but I have not got this opportunity in good conditions, still I am happy. Thanks to BCCI for giving this opportunity.

Pant said, ‘I will try my best to give my best. Thank you all for supporting me in my ups and downs in my career. I see this opportunity to become better in my career. I will try to do better every day.

Rahul and Kuldeep out of series with injuries

The BCCI said that KL Rahul has suffered a right groin injury (injury between the abdomen and the thigh). Whereas Kuldeep Yadav has suffered a right hand injury while batting in net practice. In such a situation, both the players have been out of the series due to injury. The selection committee has appointed wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant as the captain and Hardik Pandya as the vice-captain.
