Shock to Team India before Africa series, KL Rahul out, Rishabh Pant becomes captain

Team India has to play a series of 5 T20 matches against South Africa in their own home. Its first match will be played on June 9 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Earlier, a bad news has come out for the Indian team.

Team captain KL Rahul and spinner Kuldeep Yadav have been ruled out of the series due to injury. Now Rishabh Pant will be seen taking over the captaincy of the team. Hardik Pandya has been made the vice-captain. However, it is not yet clear who will be included in the squad in place of KL Rahul. BCCI has given this information.

What did BCCI say?

The BCCI said that KL Rahul has suffered a right groin injury (injury between the abdomen and the thigh). Whereas Kuldeep Yadav has suffered a right hand injury while batting in net practice. In such a situation, both the players have been out of the series due to injury. The selection committee has appointed wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant as the captain and Hardik Pandya as the vice-captain.

The BCCI said that the selection committee has not yet announced the replacements of Rahul and Kuldeep. Both these players will now report directly to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) Bangalore. Then only after investigation some big decision can be taken on the future of both.
