The anger of the defeat among the Congressmen is reflected in the allegations against the government: Chouhan

BJP has termed the allegations leveled by former Congress state president Ganesh Godiyal on the state government as baseless and annoyed by the defeat in two consecutive elections. The party’s state media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan said that the demand for investigation into the scams done on Godiyal as the temple committee president has been made by the committee member himself and not by any minister of the BJP government. Taking a jibe at the all-party meeting held in Congress Bhawan, he called it a consolation meeting of the parties who were rejected from the public. Chouhan taunted that Ganesh Godiyal was upset with the defeat in the election and he had to lose the post of state president, so he took a jibe at his party. Senior minister of the state government is taking out the anguish of failure and sorrow on Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat. He said that it is clear like a mirror that during his tenure, the member of Shri Badri Kedar Mandir Committee has leveled allegations of financial irregularities on him and on which the departmental minister Satpal Maharaj has asked to take action. Therefore, the allegation on the cabinet minister Dhan Singh Rawat regarding this whole matter, being prejudiced, is completely false and malicious.

Chouhan said that Godiyal and the public, who claimed to have opened a scam in the cooperative department, are well aware that it is Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat himself who took suo-motu cognizance of the entire matter and conducted a high-level inquiry. He alleged that all this action of Ganesh Godiyal, while being the president of Badri Kedar Dham, a symbol of the faith of crores of devotees, was to divert the attention of the people from irregularities in which he would not be successful. He said that instead of running away from the corruption charges leveled against him, he should cooperate in the investigation.

Manveer Chouhan took a jibe at the all-party meeting held in the Congress office and said, “It was not an all-party meeting but a consolation meeting in which the leaders of the marginalized parties, who were marginalized in the state politics years before the politics of the country, were seen encouraging them. Like other states of the country, the situation of opposition parties in the state has also become like two enemies in the same boat trying to save lives in the floods and now there is a tsunami of development not floods in the country and the state. He said that instead of playing the meeting, all the opposition parties including the Congress, like the BJP, should go among the public and cooperate positively in the development works.
