PV Sindhu wins Singapore Open; Defeated ZY Wang of China in the final

India’s star shuttler PV Sindhu has won the Singapore Open Super 500 Series tournament. She defeated ZY Wang of China 21-9, 11-21, 21-15. Indian shuttler PV Sindhu continued her stellar performance to clinch the Singapore Open 2022 title by registering a stunning win over Wang Zhi Yi of China in the women’s singles final on Sunday. Sindhu won her maiden Singapore Open title, her maiden Super 500 title, by defeating 11th-ranked Wang Zhi Yi. This is the third title of the two-time Olympic medalist Sindhu this year. Earlier, she has won two Super 300 titles at Syed Modi International and Swiss Open. In this match, Sindhu defeated Wang Zhi Yi 21-9, 11-21 and 21-15. This title will definitely boost Sindhu’s confidence before the Commonwealth Games.

Sindhu started the match brilliantly, in the first set she defeated the Chinese shuttler by a huge margin of 21-9, but in the second set, Wang Zhi Yi made a spectacular comeback to beat Sindhu 11-21. The third and deciding match saw a close fight between the two players, but by the end of the match, Sindhu started dominating Wang Zhi Yi and won the final set 21-15 to win the title.

Sindhu was leading 11-6 in the final set, but the Chinese shuttler came back strongly to take the score to 12-11. During this, Sindhu made many mistakes in the assessment of the court, but in the end this player made a strong comeback and won the match.
