5% extra GST will have to be paid on flour, curd and paneer from 18th July

Agricultural products with pre-packaged labels like paneer, lassi, buttermilk, packaged curd, wheat flour, other cereals, honey, papad, food grains, meat and fish (except frozen), mamara and jaggery will become costlier from July 18. That is, the tax on it has been increased. At present, 5 per cent GST is levied on branded and packaged food items. Whereas unpacked and unlabeled goods are tax free. Know which goods will become cheaper and which will become expensive from July 18.

  • Tetrapack curd, lassi and buttermilk will be expensive. Because from July 18, it will attract 5 percent GST, which was not applicable earlier.
  • The fees charged by banks for issuing check books will now attract 18 per cent GST. – 5% GST will be levied on rooms rented above Rs 5000 (Non ICU) in the hospital.
  • Apart from this, now GST will be levied at the rate of 12 percent on maps and charges including atlas.
  • Hotel rooms costing less than Rs 1000 per day will attract 12 per cent GST, which was not applicable earlier.
  • LED lights, LED lamps will attract 18 percent GST which was not applicable earlier.
  • Blades, paper-cutting scissors, pencils, sharpeners, forks, spoons, skimmers and cake servers, etc. attract 12 per cent GST. Which will now be charged at the rate of 18 per cent.

These things will be cheap

  • From July 18, the movement of passengers and goods through the ropeway will become cheaper. Because the rate of GST on this has been reduced from 18 percent to 5 percent.
  • GST on splint and other fracture devices, body prostheses, body implants, intraocular lenses has been reduced from 12 per cent to 5 per cent.
  • GST on fares for operators of goods transport will be reduced from 18 per cent to 12 per cent on fuel cost.
  • IGST will not be applicable on certain specified goods imported for Defense Forces.
