First case of monkeypox confirmed in Delhi, patient has no foreign travel history; A total of 4 cases across the country
The first patient of monkeypox has been detected in Delhi. This information has come out from quoting government sources. A 31-year-old man from Delhi has come under the grip of monkeypox, who has been admitted to Maulana Azad Hospital. This patient has no history of foreign travel. However, he had attended a party in Manali a few days back. So far, four cases of monkeypox have been reported across the country, out of which three are from Kerala. 16 labs have been dedicated for monkeypox, out of which two labs are for Kerala only. The administration is very cautious about this.
Sources told NDTV that 2-3 suspected samples were coming every week in the month of May, but now it has increased to 2-3 every day. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has said that the victim is slowly recovering and there is no need to panic. DGHS officials are going to hold a high level meeting on this matter today.

Kerala Health Minister Veena George said that the youth, a resident of Malappuram, had returned to his home state on July 6 and had fever since July 13. The young man is being treated at Manjeri Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram.

Symptoms of infection were seen in a person who arrived in Kollam from UAE on 12 July. He is under treatment at the Government Medical College Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram.
