Smriti Irani sends notice to Congress leaders, asks for unconditional apology

Union Minister and BJP leader Smriti Irani has hit back at the Congress over the allegations of her daughter running a bar in Goa. He has now sent notices to many Congress leaders in this matter. Smriti Irani has sent legal notices to Congress leaders Pawan Khera, Jairam Ramesh, leader D’Souza and Congress over her remarks on her 18-year-old daughter, asking them to tender an unconditional written apology and withdraw the allegations with immediate effect. Congress leaders had made serious allegations of Smriti Irani’s daughter having a bar in Goa. Smriti Irani on Saturday also strongly denied these allegations and attacked the Gandhi family.

However, even before this, Smriti Irani has told the allegations of Congress as false. He said on Saturday that his daughter is 18 years old. The daughter is a first year student of the college and is not running any bar. Smriti Irani said that Congress is doing character assessment of her daughter by making such allegations. The Union Minister had challenged Rahul Gandhi to contest from Amethi again and said that she would defeat him again.
The Congress on Saturday alleged that Smriti Irani’s daughter was running an ‘illegal bar’ in Goa. The opposition party requested PM Modi to sack the Union Minister for Women and Child Development. However, these allegations have already been dismissed by Smriti Irani’s daughter.
Kirat Nagra, the lawyer for the Union minister’s daughter, said her client neither owns nor operates the restaurant ‘Silly Souls’. No show cause notice has also been issued to him.
