Monkeypox found in Delhi tourists visited Shimla, Health department alert

A person suffering from monkeypox, a resident of Paschim Vihar, started having symptoms about two weeks ago. However, mistaking it for an allergy, he kept getting treated by local doctors. When his health deteriorated, he went to another local doctor, the matter reached the district administration. After this the team of district administration took the person to Loknayak Hospital. After the confirmation of monkeypox, the district administration has isolated the relatives of the victim and no person is allowed to come out. Currently, no one has any symptoms of monkeypox.

The victim had gone to Shimla on June 25 last month. From here he returned to Delhi on 27 June. On July 4, the victim’s health deteriorated, after which she showed it to the local doctors. The fever continued to rise and fall again and again. At the same time, the patient reached the local skin doctor when there was a rash on the body, but even after that he did not get well. The local doctor felt suspicious after seeing the symptoms of the patient, after which the district administration was informed.

According to Punjabi Bagh Sub-Division SDM Gurpreet, he got information about the matter on Friday. Soon after, the district administration team took the suspected patient to Loknayak Hospital. After the confirmation of monkeypox in the investigation report, 13 people who came in contact with the infected have been isolated in their homes. However, no one has any symptoms of monkeypox. In view of the seriousness of the matter, the team of District Health Department is keeping an eye on the persons who came in contact. The Containment Zone has not been created yet, but people who have been in contact for 21 days will remain in their homes.

Doctors had expressed the possibility of smallpox
According to the victim’s wife, the doctors suspected smallpox when she had symptoms. Monkeypox has been confirmed on Sunday. Now husband’s health is fine. At the same time, the health of the wife, brother-in-law and parents present in the family is fine. Two of his friends who came in contact with the patient have also been isolated in their homes. There are no symptoms in any person. Two doctors and their staff who were in contact with him are also isolated. The patient and his wife have been working from home since the time of the corona epidemic. At the same time, the district administration has deployed civil defense volunteers outside their homes.

Health department on alert
Himachal Pradesh Principal Secretary Health Subhasish Panda said that the Health Department is on alert. Chief Secretary RD Dhiman said that the Health Department officials have started investigating the matter.
