Heavy rains have now started increasing the troubles of the government as well. In the Bhopal Narmadapuram division of Madhya Pradesh, the bridges built at a cost of crores have started collapsing due to the incessant rains. The latest case Samardha bridge built on NH-46 was badly damaged. This part connects Bhopal and Hoshangabad district. This bridge was completed some time back at the cost of crores on this busiest route. But a part of it got blown away. Its construction quality was exposed in the first rain itself.
Opposition alleges corruption
The pictures and videos of this bridge that collapsed in heavy rain are becoming fiercely viral on social media. Earlier, a bridge of Bundelkhand Expressway was also washed away in the rain. After that, the same case that came up in MP has given another issue to the opposition. The leaders of the opposition are accusing the BJP government of corruption. It is being said that this is the result of the nexus between the agencies and the government who build roads and bridges in the state. Here it is being argued on behalf of the government that the matter will be investigated. A notice will be issued to the bridge construction agency and the reasons for the collapse of the bridge will be asked. At present, traffic on both sides of this route has been stopped. The local administration has diverted routes for movement.
