Maharashtra: Shinde cabinet structure finalised, ministers can be made on 65-35 formula
In Maharashtra, the government of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has been sworn in, but the division of ministries has not happened yet. Shinde, who rebelled from Shiv Sena, formed a new government with the support of BJP and former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has been made Deputy Chief Minister. In such a situation, it has to be seen that out of the 40 vacant ministerial posts, how many ministries come in whose hands.
42 ministers can be made in Maharashtra
A total of 42 ministers can be made in the Maharashtra government. This includes the post of Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister. Now where Eknath Shinde has become the Chief Minister, then Devendra Fadnavis is on the post of Deputy Chief Minister. That is, 40 ministerial posts are vacant in the Maharashtra government.
Among the MLAs who joined the Eknath Shinde faction after rebelling from Shiv Sena, there are 9 such who were ministers in Uddhav Thackeray’s Maha Vikas Aghadi government. Among them were 5 cabinet ministers and 4 ministers of state. It is expected that all these can get a place again in the new cabinet. In this way, 15 to 16 ministers can be included in the new government from the faction of Eknath Shinde.
Will the 65-35 formula apply?
In Eknath Shinde’s government, more ministerial posts can come in BJP’s account. Sources associated with the BJP said that between the party and the Shinde faction, there may be a distribution of ministerial posts on the basis of 65 and 35 percent. If this happens, then 24 to 25 ministers will come to BJP’s account, while 15 to 16 ministers of Shinde faction can be part of the council of ministers of the new government. Apart from this, many small parties and independent MLAs have also supported the new government. In such a situation, he can also get a place in the new Council of Ministers.
One thing is clear from this, that even though JP may have the post of Chief Minister or not, but along with important posts like Speaker, Deputy Chief Minister, he will have more ministers in the government and he will also be given important portfolios.
