Uttarakhand / Kotdwar : Guldar trapped in a cage in Dugadda’s dock
The Guldar, who used to eat a woman in village Godi Badi under Dugadda development block, got trapped in the cage at 9.15 pm on Wednesday, due to which the villagers breathed a sigh of relief.
A few days ago, Reena Devi, a resident of village Godi Badi, was attacked by Guldar when she was returning home after leaving her son at school. Reena was killed in the attack. On this, the villagers had also blocked the national highway demanding to declare Guldar as a man-eater. After the incident, two cages were installed near the spot by Lansdowne Forest Division. In the meantime, the Guldar also tried to attack the women who went to get water, on which the villagers intensified the demand to deploy the hunter in the village. On this, Agriculture Market Committee President Suman Kotnala spoke to the Chief Forest Guard and demanded to declare Guldar as a man-eater. After his efforts, the department declared Guldar as a man-eater.
DFO Dinkar Tiwari said that after the Guldar was declared a man-eater, Rajiv Soluman, a resident of Moradabad, was posted in the village as a shooter and a veterinarian Dr. Amit Dhyani. Meanwhile, Guldar got trapped in a cage set up in the village on Wednesday night. Told that Guldar will be taken to the rescue center soon.
