Uttarakhand : Yellow alert of heavy rain in seven districts

The weather has remained bad in Uttarakhand for the last three days. Even today, heavy to very heavy rain is expected in the next 24 hours in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Haridwar, Champawat, Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar. In view of heavy rains, meteorologists have issued a yellow alert. There is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places with strong thunder in most areas in these districts. Director of Meteorological Center Vikram Singh said that the next 24 hours are going to be a precaution for the hilly areas.

Traffic stalled on 56 motorways in Pauri district
In Pauri district, due to the change of weather and intermittent rains, traffic on 56 motorways including the state highway Karnprayag-Nauti-Pauthani, Ghandiyal-Pali-Dangi, Pokharikhet-Masau came to a standstill. On Sunday, traffic came to a standstill on 56 motorways in the district, including one highway, due to rain.

Efforts are being made by the district administration to open the roads with JCB, but due to incessant rains, debris and boulders on the roads are causing problems in opening the roads. On Sunday, the district’s highways Karnprayag-Nauti-Pauthani, Ghandial-Pali-Dangi, Pokharikhet-Masau, Kot Malla-Rithakhal, Sweet-Gahd, Kinsoor-Kandi, Dungripanth-Chhatikhal, Panisain-Buthanagar, Shankarpur-Basedi, Devikhet-Basedi, Devikhet- Traffic remained closed on the Simalya-Kafaldi, Pokhari-Dhumka motorways etc.
