Monkeypox cases raised concern in the country, 5 people in Kerala and 3 people positive in Delhi, one life has been lost so far

The number of monkeypox cases in the country may be low but it is increasing gradually. Now the number of monkeypox cases in the country has increased to 8, out of which three are from Delhi and five from Kerala. The report of a 35-year-old Nigerian youth suspected of monkeypox in Delhi has also come positive. This young man currently lives in Delhi. It had not traveled abroad recently. Its first case in the country was found in Kerala on 14 April.

Monkeypox will be treated in private hospitals

Till now, the people infected with monkeypox in Delhi are being treated at Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Hospital, but now the health department has also instructed three private hospitals for the treatment of monkeypox.

MD City Hospital in North Delhi, Kailash Deepak Hospital in East Delhi and Batra Hospital in South Delhi have been asked to make isolation rooms.  According to the order, every hospital will have to prepare 5 rooms for suspected monkeypox case and 5 rooms for confirmed monkeypox case.

It is known that at present 10 beds have been arranged in the isolation ward of LNJP Hospital.  A team of 20 doctors is deployed in the hospital, which includes skin specialists, physicians, microbiology as well as nursing staff, health workers.

People need not fear: Health Minister

Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya told in the Rajya Sabha that till now 8 cases of monkey pox have been reported in India.  Of these, 5 have returned from Dubai and Sharjah.

He told that he has written to UAE asking why these people are coming to India after coming positive in UAE.  He said, people in the country need not panic.  We are taking steps for safety.

Mansukh Mandaviya told that investigation is being done at the international and domestic airports.  He told that the guideline regarding monkeypox was issued in India in May.

Another case of monkeypox in Kerala

Another case of monkeypox has come to light in Kerala on Tuesday. According to Health Minister Veena George, a 30-year-old man has come under the grip of monkeypox in Malappuram. He had returned from UAE on July 27. For the time being it is allowed. So far 5 cases have been reported in the state.

Two suspects found in Rajasthan also

Now in Rajasthan also two suspected patients of monkeypox have come to the fore.  In this, the first patient is from Ajmer and the second is from Bharatpur.  Both have been brought to Rajasthan University of Health Science (RUHS) in Jaipur.  At present, the patients have been kept in isolation.  His sample has been sent to Pune for further investigation.

Monkeypox has caused the first death in the country

The first death due to monkeypox was confirmed in India on 1 August.  A 22-year-old youth had returned from UAE in Kerala.  After this, symptoms of monkeypox were found in him, after which he died on 30 July.  Later, when his sample was sent to NIV Pune for examination, his report came positive.  Earlier, three monkeypox patients found in Kerala have fully recovered, they also came from the Middle East.
