Uttar Pradesh: The sword of arrest hangs on two big ministers of Yogi government

Two big ministers of Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh are badly trapped. These ministers are Rakesh Sachan and Sanjay Nishad. The sword of arrest is hanging on both of them in different cases. The CJM Court of Gorakhpur has issued a non-bailable warrant against Sanjay Nishad. At the same time, Rakesh Sachan has been convicted by the court in a 31-year-old case. It is also alleged that the minister ran away before the sentence was pronounced in the court. In this case also, the court’s presenter has given a complaint to the police for registering an FIR against him.

First know what are the allegations against Rakesh Sachan?
Rakesh Sachan is currently the Minister of Khadi, Village Industries, Sericulture, Handloom and Textile Industries in the Yogi cabinet. On Saturday, the court convicted Minister Rakesh Sachan in a case of possessing a 31-year-old illegal weapon. After this, before the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate-3 Court sentencing Rakesh Sachan, with the help of his lawyer, he absconded with the original copy of the sentence order. Now the reader of the court has given a complaint in the Kotwali for the FIR against the minister.

As soon as the matter came to light, the Samajwadi Party attacked the Yogi government. Samajwadi Party leader Bhupendra Srivastava Piyush has said that the ministers of the BJP government are criminals. He asked CM Yogi whether he would do the work of getting bulldozers run at his minister’s house?

Who is Rakesh Sachan?
Rakesh Sachan is a resident of Kanpur. He started his political career with the Samajwadi Party. He was elected MLA from Ghatampur Assembly in 1993 and again in 2002. In 2009, he won the Lok Sabha election from Fatehpur seat. He left the Congress and joined the BJP before the 2022 assembly elections. Presently he is MLA from Bhognipur seat of Kanpur Dehat. Apart from this, Khadi, Village Industries, Sericulture, Handloom and Textile Industries are ministers in Yogi’s cabinet.

What is the case against Sanjay Nishad?
After Rakesh Sachan, cabinet minister Sanjay Nishad has also been caught in a legal tussle. The CJM Court of Gorakhpur has issued a non-bailable warrant against him. Orders have been issued to arrest them and present them in the court by August 10.

This case is from 2015. A case was registered against Sanjay Nishad and some others for being furious during the Nishad reservation movement. Sanjay Nishad is accused of instigating the mob. In view of this, now the court has issued a non-bailable warrant by the CJM Court of Gorakhpur.

It is alleged that in 2015, there was a movement in Kasarwal of Sahjanwan police station area for the demand of reservation for Nishad caste in government jobs. During this the crowd turned violent. One person died due to bullet injuries in this movement. It was alleged that he died due to police bullets. After this the movement became more violent. Several police vehicles were set ablaze by the agitators. During this, Sanjay Nishad, who was present there, was accused of instigating the crowd. After this, he surrendered in the court on 21 December 2015. After which he was sent to jail. In 2016, he came out on bail.
