Sidelining Sushil Modi from Bihar BJP proved to be a costly deal for the party

In the changing political developments in Bihar, some things are clear. A BJP has lost Nitish Kumar as its ally. Secondly, it proved suicidal for the top BJP leadership to isolate Bihar BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi from the politics of the state. After taking oath as the Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar himself admitted that if Sushil Modi was the Deputy Chief Minister, then this situation would not have happened today. Sushil Modi, whom the party has brought back on dharna from holding a press conference in this hour of crisis. He admitted that Nitish did not want to become the Chief Minister after the result of the 2020 Legislative Assembly elections, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi called and persuaded him. Apart from this, Sushil Modi also admitted that despite all the efforts of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, he could not stop Nitish Kumar from going with the Rashtriya Janata Dal, Congress and Left parties.

The top leadership of the BJP, especially the Bihar BJP’s central in-charge Bhupendra Yadav, used to be uncomfortable with the trio of Sushil Modi, Nand Kishore Yadav and Prem Kumar. Therefore, after the last assembly elections, he did not allow Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah to become ministers in the first cabinet by influencing their arguments and made Tarkishore Prasad and Renu Devi deputy chief ministers in their place and simultaneously fueled this speculation. That in Bihar, Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai can become the Chief Minister anytime. But Nitish was uncomfortable with both his deputy chief ministers from day one and his apprehension was not unfounded as these deputy chief ministers had neither the respect of MLAs nor any hold in the party like Sushil Modi.

Also controversial was the role of Dr. Sanjay Jaiswal as the Bihar unit president who did not always shy away from publicly criticizing Nitish Kumar. And what irritated Nitish Kumar the most was the deliberate strategy of always putting the Bihar Legislative Assembly Speaker Vijay Kumar Sinha’s government in the dock. The problem was that even the MLAs used to target Nitish fiercely and due to which he was severely criticized in the media and the public.

Sushil Modi was sent to the Rajya Sabha but his absence in the Bihar government showed a lack of confidence and a lack of political maturity. Everything Now the leaders of Bihar BJP believe that luck was running like a trust. The whole party was running like a wild horse. Although the top leadership of the party felt that by intimidating Tejashwi through the agency and suppressing Nitish, he would run the government, but after Nitish’s departure, everyone is not hesitant to accept that Sushil Modi should not be sidelined. It was wrong, but its adverse effect will be seen in the coming years and elections.
