Modi government will give flats to Rohingya refugees in Delhi, tweets of Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri

Is the Narendra Modi government at the Center preparing to give shelter to Rohingya Muslims in the country? Actually, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has tweeted in this regard. Puri tweeted that India welcomes all those who seek refugee in the country. Significantly, BJP leaders have been demanding the expulsion of Rohingya Muslims from the country.

So is the Modi government changing the policy?
In fact, Puri tweeted the story of ANI and wrote that those who work to spread false rumors against India’s refugee policy and link it with CAA will now be disappointed. India abides by the 1951 United Nations Refugee Convention and gives refuge to whoever is in need, regardless of colour, religion and caste.

Rohingya refugees will get flats!
Puri tweeted another in which he wrote, ‘India welcomes all refugees who seek asylum from the country. In a major decision, all Rohingya refugees will be shifted to EWS flats in Bakkarwala area of Delhi. All necessary things will be provided to them. They will be given UNHCR ID and round the clock Delhi Police security.

BJP leaders have been protesting
Significantly, during the discussion in the Lok Sabha in 2017, Congress and Communist parties had appealed to pay attention to refugees on the basis of humanity. At the same time, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey had said that Rohingya Muslims come to India via Myanmar. This has changed the demographics of the border areas across the country. The BJP MP had said that these people are snatching the employment of Indians and doing the work of counterfeit currency. Congress’s Shashi Tharoor had said that the country has a history of thousands of years of welcoming foreign refugees. He demanded the government to enact a refugee and asylum law.

Delhi BJP surrounded Kejriwal government on Rohingya Muslims
Delhi BJP Chief Adesh Gupta had surrounded the Aam Aadmi Party government of Delhi regarding Rohingya Muslims. He had written a letter alleging that the Delhi government has held a meeting with the MLAs and instructed them that wherever there are Rohingyas and Bangladeshis, they should immediately provide electricity connection, water, ration and other necessary help to them. He had alleged that AAP has started a special operation to save Rohingya and Bangladeshi Muslims.
