Uttarakhand : Subedar Major of Champawat, injured in Pahalgam bus accident, died in hospital

Subedar Major, a resident of Champawat in Uttarakhand, died during treatment at a hospital in Srinagar in Jammu. Subedar Major Nandan Singh Chamyal (50), a resident of Devidhura Pakhoti in Champawat district, was seriously injured in a bus accident in Pahalgam. According to the information received, he died in the hospital late on Monday night. He was on Amarnath Yatra duty during the accident. Along with this, his other companions were also injured.

Called a few days ago and said I am fine
Subedar Major Nandan Singh Chamyal, who was injured in the bus accident, spoke to the family members on a video call a few days ago. He said I am fine. Hearing this, the worries of the family were removed. But on Tuesday morning, the mountain of sorrow broke on hearing the news on the family members.

Subedar Major Nandan Singh was posted in the 4th Battalion of ITBP in Arunachal Pradesh. Before the accident, his duty was engaged in Amarnath Yatra for the last one and a half months. His bus fell into a gorge on August 16, while going from Chandanwadi to Pahalgam after the duty of Amarnath Yatra. 30 jawans were injured in the accident. Nandan Singh Chamyal was also among these injured soldiers. Apart from the head, he had suffered injuries in many parts of the body. The critically injured Chamyal was undergoing treatment in Srinagar.

After getting information about the accident, sons Chetan Chamyal, Tribhuvan Chamyal and Gaurav Singhwal reached Delhi. Subedar Major Chamyal has two sons and two daughters. Everyone is studying.
