Heavy destruction due to cloudburst in Dharchula’s Khotila in Pithoragarh, many houses demolished

There has been heavy destruction due to cloudburst in Dharchula’s Khotila on Friday night. The shops in Dharchula market have suffered heavy damage. Debris, which came with rain water from the hill, has entered many houses. The road to the market is also covered with debris. Vehicles parked on the road were also buried under the debris. Debris has accumulated on the roads in Malli Bazar, Gwal village and Khotila. There have been reports of the collapse of houses and the missing of many people in Nepal due to cloudburst. However, there is no official confirmation yet.

Recently, there was danger after the landslide at a place called Eldhar. Then four houses were demolished due to boulders falling along with landslides. Those people who have houses at this place are still living in other safe places. People have started feeling insecure due to the debris once again on Friday night. Due to heavy rains, the water level of Kali river has also increased significantly. The river has started flowing over the embankment. People are shocked by this.

In view of the bad weather, the local administration has become alert. SDRF and police are on alert. There has been a lot of devastation on the Nepal side as well. There are also reports of some houses being demolished and people missing.
