Uttarakhand : CM Dhami announced compensation for the death of children in Champawat, the incident will be investigated by a magistrate
In the primary school of Maunkanda located in the party block of the district, a student died after the roof of the toilet collapsed. Three other students were also injured in the accident. After the accident, all the officers including DM are present at the spot. The police team has taken the injured students to the hospital for treatment. According to the information, eight-year-old Chandan Singh, son of Godhan Singh, a student studying in class III, died on the spot in the accident. While student Soni son Shyam Singh, Rinku son Godhan Singh and student Shagun daughter Shyam Singh have been injured in the accident. It is being told that the cause of the accident is the dilapidated roof of the toilet.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has condoled the death of a student studying in class 03 due to the collapse of the toilet roof in the Government Primary School, Maunkande, Champawat district. The Chief Minister has directed the families of the deceased to give an assistance of Rs. 2 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. While directing a magisterial inquiry into the incident, the Chief Minister has said that if found guilty in the investigation, strict action should be taken against the concerned. He has directed that all government school buildings should be inspected. Where necessary, repair work of buildings should be done. It should be ensured that classes are conducted in completely safe buildings.
During the recess, the students climbed on the roof of that unusable toilet, due to which the accident happened due to heavy load. The students injured in the accident were immediately treated by the doctors and all the other injured students are out of danger.
On the other hand, while giving information about the incident, Chief Education Officer, Champawat Jitendra Saxena said that in a sad incident on 14th September, 2022 in Government Primary School, Maunkande, the student Chandan Singh, son of Godhan Singh, who was studying in class 03 in the school, died suddenly. The School Education Department is with the bereaved family in this hour of grief. Another toilet was also built in the school, which was being used by the students. The toilet whose roof collapsed causing the accident was inoperable (not in use).
