NASA’s rover on Mars saw an event related to the Sun that only happens on Earth

Appearing Sun Halo is not a very common phenomenon. Scientists say that such scenes can be visible only on Earth. The reason for this is that even in the picture taken on this Mars, the aura of the Sun is clearly visible. This picture has surprised the scientists. Surprisingly, scientists were sitting on the assumption that such a halo is not expected to be seen on Mars.

In fact, NASA’s Perseverance rover has seen the Sun’s halo or halo from Mars itself. It is said about this phenomenon that it is possible only on Earth. But from the picture of Perseverance, it seems that it can happen on other planets as well. Seeing this picture, an old belief of scientists is definitely broken, but then they are very excited by this discovery.

They had also waited a long time to see this event, but given the complexities of the atmosphere of Mars, they too had lost hope. Astronomers at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), which manages the rover, say the image was taken late last year on December 15.

How is this halo formed?
The Sun’s aura on Earth is formed when tiny crystals mix in the clouds scattered in the atmosphere, through which the sunlight passing through is scattered into different colors like a prism. These halo-forming crystals are mostly found in cirrus clouds. Which are found in the higher part of the atmosphere.

Not only this, the size of these halos depends on the structures of these ice crystals present in the clouds. In addition to the size of the crystal, the thickness of the clouds also plays a role in determining the shape of this aura. Wherever the colored ring formed in the aura is visible at a distance of 22 degrees from the Sun.
