Britain: Openly vandalized Shiva temple, uprooted saffron flag
Special guests from all over the world have arrived for Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in the UK on Monday. Meanwhile, there are reports of tension between two communities in the city of Lister, England. This tension has increased further after the demolition of the Shiva temple. People from one side not only created a ruckus outside the temple, but also took off the saffron flag and threw it away.
According to media reports, there was an atmosphere of tension between the two communities in the area since the India and Pakistan match on August 28. India defeated Pakistan in this match. Since then, after taunting and remarks on each other, the people of both the sides instigated more, the result was such that a mob of one side went to the temple and ransacked the temple.

A video of the vandalism in the temple is also becoming fiercely viral. It can be seen in the video that a large number of militants and police personnel are standing outside the temple. The people protesting are also creating a lot of hue and cry.
In the meantime, a young man climbs the outer wall of the temple and takes off a saffron flag installed there. After which this person tilts the flag downwards. In the video, this act being done outside a religious place is clearly telling that with how much hatred this incident has been carried out.
Police started investigation, 15 arrested
According to reports, taking cognizance of the case, the local police have arrested 15 people so far. Police say that the police are fully aware of the matter of downing the saffron flag from outside the religious place on Melton Road. This incident happened when the policemen present there were trying to stop the crowd of people.
Police said about this that we are investigating the matter and any kind of violence and disorder will not be tolerated. Police is interrogating the arrested people. Along with this, the video of the incident is also being investigated from different angles.
The atmosphere was spoiled by the match between India and Pakistan
Last month on August 28, the first match of the Asia Cup was held between India and Pakistan. India won this cricket match. Due to which Pakistani fans were not very happy, since then there was an atmosphere of tension in the area.
The police was continuously appealing for peace, but the fire of people’s mind was getting raging. Eventually the atmosphere got worse from Saturday night, after which on Sunday the mob attacked the temple and took down the saffron flag.
At present, the police has brought the situation under control, but additional police have been deployed to deal with the tension. The police is keeping an eye on the people from its level and is trying that there is no tension between the people of both the communities again.
