Kisau dam multipurpose project is in the interest of Uttarakhand, CM has kept the better side of the state at the center: Mahendra Bhatt

BJP State President Mahendra Bhatt has described the Kishau Dam multipurpose project as very important for cheap electricity, local development and employment growth in the interest of the state. He thanked the Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for better favoring the state regarding this national project in the meeting of various states held under the chairmanship of Union Minister Gajendra Shekhawat and expressed hope that this scheme which will change the direction of the concerned area soon. will come into existence. In a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, CM Dhami welcomed the discussion on police modernization and cooperation with the Center for the damage caused by the disaster in the state and also said that it is necessary for better law and order.

Mahendra Bhatt informed in his statement that Kishaun Yojana will not only prove to be a milestone in the development of Uttarakhand, but will also work to quench the thirst of the farms of UP, Haryana and Rajasthan and the people of Delhi. He said, the proposed multipurpose dam project on the Tons river, which draws the border from Himachal Pradesh in Dehradun, will change the face of Chakrata-Vikasnagar area. The state will get the direct benefit of this scheme in the form of about 690 MoUs of green electric energy, which will help the government in providing electricity at affordable rates to the people of the state. He said, the construction and operation of this second largest dam of Asia 236 meters high and 680 meters in length will provide direct and indirect employment opportunities to a large number of local people, besides the expansion of facilities and the lake of the dam. There is also bound to be a record increase in the number of tourists through various means etc.

State President Bhatt said, since the delay in the construction of the project is bound to result in an increase in the new DPR against the fixed electrical component cost of 1536.04 crore in 2018, which was to be borne by Himachal and Uttarakhand under the earlier contract. But the alertness and skill with which the Dhami government has requested the four other beneficiary states to bear the increase in the electricity component in the new DPR, while presenting the state’s side in front of the Union Water Minister, it is set to be approved in the next meeting. Praising this effort of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, he said that it would not only save the revenue of the state but would also prove helpful in reducing the burden of electricity price on the public. Apart from this, the State President said that the modernization in the police department is also very important, and described the discussion by the Chief Minister with the Union Home Minister Amit Shah on this subject as expressing the positive intention of the government.
