Uttarakhand / Dehradun : Student union angry due to lack of student union elections in PG colleges, also warning of agitation

Student leaders are preparing for elections in PG colleges of Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand. They are eagerly waiting for the student union elections. There have been 80-90 percent admissions in colleges, but nothing is known about the elections. Student leaders have warned that if elections are not held in a week, they will agitate. This displeasure among the students is because they have been preparing for the student union elections for a long time and are busy campaigning for it. Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) student leader Dayal Bisht said that a memorandum has been given to Higher Education Minister Dhan Singh Rawat on this. If a decision is taken on that soon, then it is fine, otherwise the student organizations will unite and organize a fierce agitation.
At the same time, NSUI student leader Naman Sharma says that students from the field to the mountain come to study in DAV (PG) College. If there is any problem here, only the student leaders stand with them. To solve the problems of the students, it is necessary for the student leaders to be in the college, for this it is necessary to have elections. Whereas, student leader of Nishchay Group, Abhishek Mamgai said that according to Lyngdoh committee elections should be held after 45 to 60 days from the start of college. Therefore, if elections are not held by October 10, then it is difficult to hold student union elections.
Independent student leader Sumit Kumar says that the assurance was given by Education Minister Dhan Singh Rawat, but no order has come in writing. This is an attempt to suppress the problems of the students.
Dr. KR Jain, Principal of DAV (PG) College said about this that as the order of the state government comes, it will be followed.
