Law Minister Rijiju said before CJI in Patna: Case pending for 10 to 15 years; Judge-lawyer, the government should look in its eyes

In Patna, Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju said on Saturday that how to strengthen the justice delivery mechanism? Focus on this. Merely increasing the number of judges will not strengthen it. The delay in the case adds to the concern. It is a matter of sorrow for us that the case remains pending for 10 to 15 years. The judges-lawyers and the government should have a peep into their own eyes. When he was speaking, Chief Justice of India Justice UU Lalit, Bihar CJ Justice Sanjay Karol and six Supreme Court judges were present on the stage.
Kiren Rijiju was speaking at the inaugural session of the National Seminar and Training Program organized by the Bihar State Bar Council and Bar Council of India at Bapu Auditorium. He said that when he became a minister, there were 4 crore 25 lakh cases pending. Due to Corona, its number has increased to 4 crore 80 lakhs.
The Law Minister said that many videos come to me. I observe the video of the High Court. Many flaws were seen. The comments made on judges on social media are not correct. Concrete steps have to be taken in this matter. There should be action. Pay attention to live streaming.
In the last 8 years, the Narendra Modi government did not take a single step that would harm the judiciary. We expect the judiciary to act with respect within its scope and constitution. in order to maintain a cordial relationship.
CGI said – lawyers have a lot of power
Chief Justice of India UU Lalit said, ‘A lawyer is a person who takes care of the rule of law. Honor him. Second, he finds a reason in everything. He always tries. Third, he thinks about everything at the national level. This is the reason why Mahatma Gandhi chose only salt during Dandi Yatra? Because, salt is very important in a man’s life. Lawyers have a lot of power. Based on this you have to proceed.
A canvassing power is in the attorney. It should be strengthened further. It should be used properly in the society.
At the same time, Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul of the Supreme Court appealed that when there is a difference of opinion between the court and the bar, the lawyers should not go on strike. Because, it affects the justice system. The client is not able to get justice on time. Chief Justice of Patna High Court Sanjay Karol praised the program. He said that Bihar State Bar Council is the third largest council in the country.
He said that the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi had started Champaran Satyagraha from Bihar itself. The ratio of filing and execution of cases is highest in the entire country in Patna High Court.
Justice MR Shah of the Supreme Court said that Gujarat is my birthplace and Bihar is Karmabhoomi. He said that lawyers should stop the culture of taking dates on dates. This adds to the problems of the client. Just as there is a judicial academy for the training of judges, in the same way an academy should also be made for the training of lawyers. So that the lawyer also has quality.
Six judges of the Supreme Court also participated in this program. These include Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul, MR Shah, BR Gavai, JK Maheshwari, MM Sundaresh and PA Narasimha. Along with them, Chief Justice of Patna High Court Sanjay Karol and many judges attended. Several former judges were also present. Bar council officers, members of all the states as well as about 7 to 8 thousand lawyers from Bihar alone participated.
