Jammu and Kashmir: Security for 2 militants in Kupwara, 2 AK-47 and 4 hand grenades recovered
Security forces have killed two terrorists in Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir. The jawans have recovered two AK-47s, two pistols and four hand grenades from them. However, the terrorists have not been identified yet. The search operation of the security forces is going on.
Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel killed two terrorists in a joint operation in Kupwara. This encounter between security forces and terrorists has been done at LOC Tekri Nar in Machil area of Kupwara. The identity of the slain terrorists is yet to be ascertained. The jawans have recovered two AK-47s, two pistols and four hand grenades from them. Jammu and Kashmir Police has given this information.
Two terrorists were killed on September 14
On September 14, security forces had killed two terrorists in an encounter. The slain terrorists were associated with Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGuH). Jammu and Kashmir Police said that both these terrorists were involved in attacking a laborer from West Bengal on September 2. While identifying these terrorists, the ADGP of Kashmir said that one terrorist was Aijaz Rasool Nazar, a resident of Pulwama and the other Shahid Ahmed alias Abu Hamza.
On Saturday, the outside laborer was shot
On Saturday itself, terrorists shot two non-local civilians in Pulwama, in which both were seriously injured. Both the persons were residents of Bihar. Those who have been admitted to the hospital. The injured have been identified as Shamshad son Islam Sheikh and Faizan Kasri son Fayaz Qadri resident of district Bettiah (Bihar). Police said that both work as laborers here.
136 terrorists killed till August
Encounters with terrorists often continue in Jammu and Kashmir. On Saturday night before Independence Day, terrorists attacked with a grenade in Kaimoh of Kulgam, in which a police personnel was martyred. Later, by the time the security forces arrived, the terrorists had fled. So far this year, 136 terrorists have been killed in encounters in Jammu and Kashmir. From 10 to 17 August, 5 terrorists were killed. Of the terrorists killed in 2022, 38 were foreigners, while 98 are local terrorists. A total of 146 terrorists are active in the valley. Of these, 62 are local and 84 are foreigners.
