Uttarakhand / Dehradun : Inauguration of Sanjeevani Diwali Fest-2022 organized by Civil Service Officers Wives Association

Sanjeevani Diwali Fest – 2022, organized by the Civil Service Officers Wives Association, was inaugurated at the Civil Service Institute located at Old Mussoorie Road, Dehradun on Saturday. The grand Sanjeevani Diwali Fest, which lasted for 2 days, was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the Chief Guest Gurmeet Kaur, On this occasion, giving priority to the local products, culture and civilization of Uttarakhand, these were displayed prominently through various stalls. The Chief Guest Gurmeet Kaur visited the various stalls put up in the program, during which she also got detailed information about the local products. Appreciating the Civil Service Officers Wives Association, he said that Sanjeevani Diwali Fest is a means of social service, through which these people are working to promote the products of far-flung mountains and give a new market. He said that most of the stalls in the program have been set up by women which is an example of women empowerment.

In the Sanjeevani Diwali Fest, products manufactured by Self Help Groups under National Rural Livelihood Mission were showcased through stalls, which included Manduwe biscuits made in Pauri district, Pahari fruits like Malta, orange juices, homemade pickles, local products of Nainital district. Products, Stalls, Shawls, Mufflers, Sweaters made in Vikasnagar area, Fans made in Uttarkashi, Pooja asanas, Aipan Design Sarees from Pithoragarh district, and Copper utensils, Rajma of Joshimath, Products of Pahadi Figs, Products of Ringal, Hand made Candles, pottery, diyas, products of Ringal, products made from cow dung, paintings, as well as decoration materials made by handicapped children in Haridwar, special products of candles etc. were given place.

President of the organization Dr. Harleen Kaur Sandhu informed that stalls based on local products of Uttarakhand have been set up in this fair. The purpose of this fair organized by Sanjeevani is to provide a platform to the artisans, cultivators, artisans, and small entrepreneurs of the state, so that A market should be available for their made goods and artefacts. He said that during the Dharchula disaster by the Sanjeevani Sansthan, 57 families were helped. Sanjeevani Sansthan Secretary Rashmi Bardhan said that in this fair, work is being done to give a platform to organic products found in different districts of Uttarakhand, products based on traditional architecture made by local people, handicrafts and handloom products, through which work is being done. Local products should get a different identity from Uttarakhand as well as in the whole country and abroad, he said, the purpose of this fair is to connect people with employment, and to take forward the work of social service.

Dr. Alaknanda Ashok, Vice President of Sanjeevani Sansthan said that such a fair is being organized by Sanjeevani Sansthan for the last 3 years, in which work has always been done with the aim of benefiting the person standing at the last end of the society. He said that in the coming time we will try to give more grand and divine look to this fair. Anjali Sinha, treasurer of Sanjeevani Sanstha said that this time the fair will include Aipan saris, copper utensils in Almora-Bageshwar, Rajma of Joshimath, products of hill figs, products of Ringal, handmade candles, earthen pots, lamps, cow’s. Products made from cow dung, special products of Khurja etc. have been given place,

It is noteworthy that “Sanjeevani” is an organization run by the wives of civil service officers of Uttarakhand. Various programs are run by the organization from time to time in the direction of social upliftment of Uttarakhand state. In this sequence, Sanjeevani Diwali Fest is also being organized by Sanjeevani Sanstha for the last three consecutive years. During this, Anshu Pandey, Anuradha Sudhanshu, Akanksha Sinha, Mathani Fanai, Gunjan Yadav, Harika Rajesh, Rajni Tomar, Shikha Pandey, Vinita Kunwar and other dignitaries were present.
