On the petition of Satyendra Jain, the court asked the Tihar administration – when and why did it stop giving fruits and nuts?
Aam Aadmi Party leader and Delhi cabinet minister Satyendar Jain, lodged in Tihar Jail in money laundering case, has moved a special court. Jain said in the petition that he is not being given proper food in the jail. Along with this, the issue of CCTV footage of the jail being leaked to the media was also raised.
In the petition, Jain has requested to give him traditional food. He said that the jail administration should be instructed to give them vegetables, fruits and nuts.
In the petition, Jain said that nothing is being provided to him in the jail. They have not given me proper diet. His agenda is something else.
Court seeks response from Tihar administration by tomorrow
The court has asked the Tihar Jail administration to file a reply by tomorrow on the food served to Satyendar Jain in the jail.
Jain’s lawyer said that Tihar Jail should be instructed to ask that when Satyendar Jain went to jail, what was his weight? What is his weight now and how much was in between?
On Jain’s petition, the court has asked the Tihar administration to inform by Thursday that when and why was the order to stop serving fruits, vegetables and nuts to Satyendar Jain in food?
In the petition, Jain said that if he is lying about the food in the jail, then proceedings should be initiated against him for making a false statement. The court directed the RMO and SMO of the jail to remain present during the hearing through video conferencing. Where is it? The hearing in the case will be held on Thursday at 2 pm.
The court asked what diet is being given to Satyendar Jain now. Jail administration has been asked to tell whether Satyendar Jain’s diet was stopped or not?
Along with this, the court has asked the jail administration to present the medical report of Satyendar Jain by Monday.
Investigation of CCTV footage leaked in the media
In the petition, Satyendra Jain also said that who got his CCTV video leaked in jail? Who is the source of this leak, it should also be investigated.
Jain said in the petition that the CCTV footage of the jail should not be leaked to the media.
Let us tell you that one after the other, videos of Satyendar Jain, who is jailed in the money laundering case, are coming out, in which sometimes he is seen getting massage and sometimes eating salad. In such a situation, Satyendar Jain himself filed a petition before the court. Said that CCTV footage should not be leaked to the media.
What was said in the petition?
Satyendra Jain had said in the petition that he was not being allowed to eat ‘Jain diet’ (religious diet) and visit the temple in the jail premises. Satyendar Jain has said that he does not eat regular food without going to the temple. Every day first he goes to the temple, only after that he eats something. Jain further said that he takes fruits and salads as diet during fasting. Going to the temple follows the religious tradition of not eating uncooked food. Due to this, cooked food, cereals and milk products are not being consumed in the jail. For the last 2 days they are not being given fruits and salad as diet. This is causing them trouble.
