HPU did not wake up even on mistakes, online system became heavy
The online system implemented in the Himachal Pradesh University regarding the examination system is creating a headache for the students from the very beginning. The use of on-screen evaluation of answer sheets in PG courses in 2021-22 was unsuccessful. Which former Vice Chancellor Prof. It was done during the tenure of Sikandar Kumar. There were flaws in this too. The examination results of the students were hanging. Despite this, the university implemented it in the first year of the UG course.

Now the students are facing the brunt of this in the form of half-declared exam results. Serious questions are being raised on the 20 and 33 percent of the declared results of B.Sc and B.Com of UG. The on-screen evaluation adopted by the university could also be a possible reason for the students’ incomplete results. In the process of onscreen evaluation of UG degree course, from scanning of answer sheets to sending it to the teachers online for evaluation, the entire process has been done by the personnel of the ERP project company.

It was first used in 2021-22 with some PG courses which was unsuccessful. Later, the results had to be prepared by evaluating in the old way. The entire process is done on contract with the ERP company. In such a situation, the possibility of defect at any level in the whole process of scanning or sending it to the teachers, evaluation of these answer sheets by the teachers, till the award cannot be ruled out.

This is not a new issue. Ever since the project of making Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) University online is going on in the University, despite spending crores, the UG and PG students of the University have got less convenience, inconvenience and more trouble. Student organizations have protested against the shortcomings of the ERP system since its inception. The on-screen evaluation process adopted by the university has been opposed by student organizations, university employees, and teachers who evaluate answer sheets.
