Uttarakhand: ACR will tell about messing up in birth-death registration, negligence of officers, CS gave strict instructions to the officers in the meeting

Chief Secretary Dr. SS Sandhu has said that cases pending due to negligence in birth and death registration will be registered in the ACR of the officers. He instructed the officers of the concerned departments to compulsorily register births and deaths on the Civil Registration System (CRS) portal. On Wednesday, the Chief Secretary took a meeting of departmental officers regarding birth-death registration in the Secretariat. He said that due to delay in registration due to lack of information, people have to face many problems when certificates are required. People should not face any problem in the absence of certificates. A system should be developed for this. Delayed registration cases will be marked in the ACR by fixing the responsibility of the officers and employees who are negligent in registration. The Chief Secretary said that in order to bring uniformity in birth-death certificates, registration through the Civil Registration System (CRS) portal should be made mandatory by the concerned departments.
For this, the health department was instructed to issue mandate soon. With the uniformity in the certificates, this certificate will also be valid at the international level. Due to which there will not be any problem in making passport visa for going abroad.
He instructed to form a committee at the divisional and district level similar to the inter-departmental coordination committee of the state. He said birth-death registration should be included in the right to service along with his government portal. The Director of the Directorate of Census Operations should be trained for the operation of the civil registration system portal. Secretary Chandresh Kumar, Director Directorate of Census Operations Sheetal Verma and other officers were present in the meeting.
