Uttarakhand: One thousand solar villages will be built in the state, the government will give special concessions on setting up the project

In the state, the government will generate electricity in the villages which are exposed to sunlight for the maximum time. Identification of 1000 such villages has been started, where the government will give special concessions for setting up solar projects. On Makar Sankranti on January 14, the government is going to take many important steps in the direction of solar energy. Secretary Energy R. Meenakshi Sundaram said that a new solar energy policy is being prepared in the state, which will be implemented on this very day. This will pave the way for more than 2000 MW power generation. Apart from this, one thousand villages will be declared as solar villages.
These villages are being identified. He told that the teams of UREDA are marking such villages in every district, where these sunlight remain maximum time. The government will give special concessions to those who set up solar projects in the villages which are declared as solar villages. A special action plan will also be prepared to take the power generation in those villages to the grid.
