BCCI’s SGM for T20 World Cup to be held on May 29
The Cricket Board of India (BCCI) has called a Special General Meeting (SGM) on 29 May to discuss cricket in India in the upcoming season, including the T20 World Cup to be held in October – November. In the notice sent by the BCCI Secretary Jai Shah for the meeting, it has been said that in view of the state of the epidemic in India, the upcoming cricket season will be discussed. The second wave of the COVID-19 epidemic is raising fears about the T20 World Cup being held in India. The BCCI has called this before the SGM International Cricket Council (ICC) meeting on June 1.
In the ICC meeting, looking at the state of Kovid-19 in India, the T20 can decide on the event of the World Cup. The epidemic situation is serious in India right now. The UAE is at the forefront of organizing the ICC event after the Indian Premier League (IPL) was postponed due to some cases being found in a bio-safe environment. Nine venues Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow and Mumbai were selected to host the T20 World Cup at the BCCI Apex Council meeting last month. Domestic cricket will also be discussed in SGM.
