China : 3 killed, 27 injured in earthquake in Yunnan

Beijing : A series of earthquakes in southwestern China’s Yunnan province killed at least three people and injured 27 people. The party’s party chief Yang Guojong said the quake was felt in all 12 counties and cities of the province, with Yangbi Yi Autonomous County being the most affected.

Two died in Yangbi and one in Yongping County. Three people were seriously injured and 24 others suffered minor injuries.
About 72,317 residents in 20,192 homes were affected by the earthquake.

According to the China Earthquake Network Center, as of 11 pm (Beijing time), four shocks of magnitude 5 were felt between 9 pm and 11 pm in Yangbi.

As of 2 pm, 166 aftershocks have been recorded in the area.
